Here’s Zoe! Hot on the heels of Lera and Amory’s cake smashing extravaganzas, Zoe was not to be outdone. After a few minutes posing with Mom and Dad, Zoe crawled over to her cake and delicately picked off the flowers… before spreading white buttercream all over her legs! Much fun was had by all… Andrea, Reid, thanks for having me over to photograph Zoe and share in her first birthday celebration – and I hope there were no ill-effects from the late bedtime!

Wow, a whole year went by in the blink of an eye! I’m so glad I took care to savour (almost!) every minute of it. My little monkey is sooo good in every way! Here are a few snaps to commemorate his first birthday celebrations! We started with balloons – which he L-O-V-E-D. Then, naturally, he smashed a cake! He was absolutely hilarious in the way he methodically poked his finger into the middle of every polka dot! After cake, we headed for the splash pad. He demonstrated his standing, sitting in a puddle, and his Mowgli walking style. Then home for a dinner party with cousins (left to right: Thomas, Marissa and Daniel), then presents! Phew. Big day for the little guy! *glow*

Remember back in the spring when h2o photography held a contest for a baby’s first birthday ’smash the cake’ photo session? Well here is little Lera smashing her cake! While our official winner was Zoe, who’s cake smashing photos will appear on the blog in a few days, a serendipitous twist had Lera as a winner as well. And she had a ball!!! The pictures tell the story… see below. Thanks Marian and Lillian and Grandma for bringing Lera out at the last minute! Hope she enjoyed her yummy pink cake and wasn’t too sticky by the time she got home!!!

Where to do your wedding photos when getting married in Toronto’s Liberty Village? This super fun bride and groom indulged my ideas of hanging out on loading docks, climbing fire escapes and sitting in parking lots… good thing we started with a good strong cuppa joe! Soooo glad the weather held and was in fact perfect. Jill and Nick, I hope you went on to have a perfect and lovely wedding ceremony and reception – and that you remembered to take off your rings again before making things official!!! I have a tonne of favourite images to share here – Thanks again, Jill and Nick, for a fun afternoon….

After an ‘i heart faces’ photo challenge particiaption hiatus due to life moving absolutely too quickly, here’s my entry into this week’s ‘i heart faces’ photographer’s community weekly challenge. This week’s theme is “Beach Fun”. Check out the site at www.iheartfaces.com. This one you’ll recognize from just a couple of posts ago – Lisa’s little gals on the beach!

This little guy loved his fruits and vegetables… to play with!
I was so lucky to have a photo session with this family in their beautiful garden on a hot early-August morning – we played around on the grass, in the wagon and among the flowers – Jasper even sat on the sundial for a few mugs at the camera! He also delighted in showing us his new trick of walking, adding ten or more wobbly steps together to get all the way across the yard. Only at the end of the session did I discover the gorgeous pond at the bottom of the Grandma’s and Grandpa’s garden hidden behind the trees. Glad I did – these are some of my favourite photos!
Now, usually I pick about 20 or so images to show on my blog – but with this family I had more than 50 picked out! Tough narrowing it down, but here goes…
Thanks to little Jasper, and to Christine and Greg, for having me spend the morning with you!

Another lovely mom-to-be at sunset! Toronto’s waterfront makes a beautiful backdrop for a maternity photo session. We played at one of the city’s landmarks, ran around in the grass and jumped up and down on the pier – yes – 8 and a half months pregnant and can you believe she jumped in the air for me!?! Thanks Monika and Stewart – it was a pleasure. Can’t wait to meet your little one!

While I have never been a fan of getting out of bed early, my little guy insists on it. So if you are up anyway, why not go out and capture some gorgeous early morning light? My little family met Lisa’s little family for a mutual photo session – timed to roughly coincide with Lily’s second birthday and exactly a year on from our last photo session (here). It was lots of fun – there was lots of spirit, laughs and sand! Lisa – hope you love the photos – Lily and Audrey continue to just blossom! Stay tuned for Lisa’s pics of us on her blog…

Twins! Made for a super action packed family photography shoot! Callum and Cassidy were adorable – just hanging around in baskets, rolling around on the carpet and generally just being adorable. Big sister Delaney was there to supervise it all too, with her gorgeous big blue eyes. Raisins, juice and a romp in the backyard kept her happy too! Thanks Karen and Lee (and Jean!) for letting me invade your home for a fun morning…

I absolutely loved the evening light at this wonderful maternity photo session! We first hit the local car wash for it’s delicious blue walls, then headed down to the wilds of south Leslieville and let the sun set on us, then finished up at home with a few indoor shots. Ranjit just glowed with her pregnancy – look at her! Thanks Ranjit and Nab – can’t wait to meet the little one soon soon soon – boy or girl!?!?!?
